Our client is seeking an Outside Sales Representative for their industrial company.

The base salary is up to $100,000 with total earnings of $125,000.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for identifying, reaching out to, negotiating with, monitoring, and expanding large national accounts within a specified sales territory. This role also involves contract renewal and negotiation, as well as targeting new accounts to align with strategic objectives.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and assess opportunities within the existing and potential national accounts in line with the marketing strategy.
  • Develop effective strategies and campaigns, and conduct high-level sales presentations and sales calls.
  • Establish strong professional relationships with key decision-makers.
  • Review and negotiate contracts to optimize pricing and terms for all accounts.
  • Effectively manage a defined sales territory, collaborating with the National Accounts department to implement strategies efficiently.
  • Focus on national accounts for sales opportunities within integrated supply programs.
  • Maintain up-to-date programs and presentations for engaging national accounts, ensuring the company’s presence as a solutions provider.
  • Make recommendations to management for new sales initiatives.
  • Be responsible for the growth of national accounts.
  • Collect and analyze data, compare and assess proposed price levels.
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, achieving related results as required.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, APTITUDE:

  • Ability to prospect mid-market and large OEM customers in industrial and distribution markets, including comfort with strategic contracts.
  • Proficiency in interacting with high-level decision-makers, such as Presidents, owners, Purchasing Managers, Head Engineers, Product Managers, or Material Managers.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of successful sales and business growth experience with new customers.
  • Experience in selling custom solutions and value-added services.
  • Knowledge of Power Transmission products is advantageous.
  • Preferred experience in OEM-prototyping and application engineering.
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • A true hunter mentality is essential for this role.

TOOLS & EQUIPMENT:

  • Proficiency in using computers and related databases, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Training will be provided on the organization’s operating system.

INTERACTION:

  • Interaction with President, National Sales Manager, Purchasing, Engineering, Customer Service, and Sales personnel.
  • Interaction with individuals at all levels within customer organizations.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Mechanical Engineering degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of five years of successful selling experience, preferably in the Power Transmission Industry (Chain experience is highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated track record of sales growth through acquiring new business.
  • Computer literacy in a Windows environment.
  • Willingness and availability to travel approximately 30-50% of the time.
  • Willingness to sign a non-compete agreement.
