Our client is seeking a Director of Sales.

The base salary is up to $150,000 with total earnings of $250,000-$300,000.

There will be overnight travel close to 100% of the time.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the planning, organization, and implementation of Sales and Business Development activities for the Division.
  • Formulate revenue strategy.
  • Ensure that revenue goals are met or exceeded and work to develop markets in new geographies.
  • Direct, train, and appraise Account Executives.
  • Oversee, in coordination with Senior Management, short and long-term strategic sales and marketing planning. Update and monitor the feasibility of strategic plans on an ongoing basis.
  • Research and analyze environmental and competitive conditions, customer needs, and market trends. Design strategies to capitalize on market opportunities and ensure that strategic plans complement marketplace needs.
  • Formulate the sales and marketing budget. Ensure that marketing activities are cost-effective, efficient, and within established budget constraints.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of Company products, operations, and systems.
  • Leverage current alliances and customer relationships to further expand business development opportunities at all levels.
  • Assume responsibility for developing new market opportunities.
  • Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, opportunities, channels, products, and competitors to support business development opportunities.
  • Network with industry leaders and build relationships to facilitate expanded sales opportunities.
  • Effectively manage the Company’s sales force, ensuring optimal performance.
  • Provide leadership to Account Executives through effective objective setting, delegation, and communication. Conduct sales meetings as required.
  • Conduct performance appraisals. Provide suggestions for improved performance. Formulate and implement employee corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure the delivery of products and services within established timeframes. Work to exceed customer expectations.
  • Promote goodwill and a positive image of the Company. Ensure that the Company’s professional reputation is maintained.
  • Assume responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Company associates and management.
  • Assist and support related departments. Obtain and convey information as needed.
  • Keep management informed of area activities and of any significant concerns.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and committees as required.
  • Complete reports, records, and other documentation as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Business, or Related field. Master’s is preferred.
  • 5+ years of managerial experience.
  • 5+ years of related business development, marketing, and/or sales experience.
  • Excellent understanding of market penetration strategies, market development techniques, and market segmentation strategies.
  • Analytical and technical skills.
  • Presentation skills.
  • Able to build collaborative relationships both internally and externally.
